Andrew was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma when he was 12 years old in his leg. He had a limb salvage surgery and lots of chemotherapy. We are so glad that he is 18 months NED- no evidence of disease! Andrew has done fundraising at his school and partnered with restaurants in his area to raise money for Osteosarcoma Research granted through MIB Agents. He supported his mom as she raised money for MIB by running the Chicago Marathon in 2019 and games with MIB Agent gamers too! Welcome to the Junior Board Andrew!
Bentley’s sister, Sloane, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2016. Bentley has been an active participant in the annual FACTOR conference and HQ for OsteoWarriors. He is a trained Ambassador Agent and helps bring hope and joy to warriors by helping to run MIB Gamer Agents. Bentley’s dedication to OsteoWarriors helps them feel less isolated while in treatment.
Sloane is an OsteoWarrior that has thoroughly enjoyed 2+ years in remission. She started working with MIB Agents at the end of her treatment and has been an active participant at the annual FACTOR conference and HQ for OsteoWarriors. She is a trained Ambassador Agent and brings hope to warriors beginning their osteosarcoma treatment. MIB Agents has been honored to have her involvement fundraising for osteosarcoma research and helping to decide upon potential grant recipients at OutSmarting Osteosarcoma.
Alexis is an 11 year osteosarcoma survivor. She has had 3 limb salvage surgeries and finally an amputation. She is currently in her first year of medical school at the University of Arizona Medical School and an aspiring pediatric oncologist. Alexis has a wide range of hobbies including baseball, science and traveling. She has been actively involved in MIB Agents for several years attending FACTOR conference, working on an initiative called Count Me In between MIB Agents and the Broad Institute, becoming a trained Ambassador Agent and currently served as Mission Commander to grant missions for warriors that have exhausted all treatment options. Alexis uses her powers for good everyday!
Ryan is an active 17 year old soccer player in his senior year of high school when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the Fall of 2014. He was treated for osteosarcoma at the top of his leg and underwent limb salvage surgery. He relapsed 9 months later to his lungs and has been cancer-free ever since that surgical removal. Since joining MIB Agents, Ryan has attended FACTOR in 2018 and 2019 and Hyundai Hope on Wheels/ MIB Agents Thought Leaders Summit. He has shared his story as a guest speaker at the Thought Leaders Summit and FACTOR 2019. Ryan’s story has inspired many warriors and researchers!
Victoria is an 18 year old warrior who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her leg and lungs in December 2014 as a 13 year old. She had an amputation in February 2015 and has done many things with her “fancy foot” including surfing, skiing, bowling, riding amusement rides and horses, running track in high school and swimming on the swim team Osteosarcoma can’t slow down Victoria! She is a senior in high school and enjoys signing, baking and teaching preschoolers. Victoria has been an active warrior in many FACTOR conferences, built partnerships with her local hospitals and raises money for osteosarcoma research. Her motto is “Let’s kill the cancer!”
Lauren was diagnosed with extraskeletal osteosarcoma in 2017. Her brother was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2011 and passed away in 2017 to leukemia. Lauren and her brother have Li-Fraumeni syndrome which is a genetic predisposition to cancer. She bravely shares her story to increase awareness and funding for osteosarcoma research. MIB Agents is honored to have Lauren speaking at FACTOR 2020.
Serena was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her junior year of college while attending the University of Michigan. Befriending other OsteoWarriors and having friends pass away from the disease has inspired her to want to make it better for kids fighting osteosarcoma. Serena and her family have been fundraising for MIB Agents for over a year to help fund research progress for osteosarcoma and been active participants in the annual FACTOR conference.
Brooke has been involved in the pediatric cancer community since 2007, when one of her friends, Jack Langseder, was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma. Since then, she has been a part of pediatric cancer research and has been inspired by Victoria Marsh, who has been bravely battling Osteosarcoma for years. She has fundraised for MIB Agents with donut sales and a swim clinic. Brooke has attended MIB Agents/ Hyundai Hope on Wheels Thought Leader Summit in 2018, FACTOR in 2019, ran the Miami Half Marathon as part of OutRunning Osteosarcoma and is looking forward to FACTOR 2020!
Maeve is a two-time osteosarcoma survivor and has been NED (no evidence of disease) for over 5 years! As a trained Ambassador Agent, she is dedicated to making it better for OsteoWarriors by fostering connections with kids in treatment to help them feel heard and less isolated. She has also assisted in the ‘Count Me In’ initiative for osteosarcoma through the Broad Institute.
Tim was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2017 and rang the bell to mark the end of his treatment in 2018. Due to complications with his limb salvage surgery he had an amputation in 2019 and is now moving forward and enjoying his good health. He has been an active participant in the FACTOR conference and HQ for OsteoWarriors along with completing Ambassador Agent training and helping to organize and lead MIB Gamer Agents. Game On Tim!
