GENERAL


Where and when is the conference?
The conference will be hosted at the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch in Phoenix, AZ from Thursday, February 27, 2020 to Saturday, February 29, 2020. There will be a 5K on property on Sunday, March 1, 2020.

Can my organization or institution have a booth at the conference?
With a donation from your organization or institution can have a 6’ shirted table for the entire length of the conference prominently setup outside the general session space. To view more on sponsorship, click sponsor tab above.

How many years has this conference occurred?
MIB Agents FACTOR Osteosarcoma Conference is entering it’s 4th year in 2020! You can review the previous years programs and speaker lists under the past conferences tab above.

Does this conference just discuss osteosarcoma?
Yes, this conference focuses on Osteosarcoma and a little on other sarcomas.

How can I support this conference?

What’s the agenda for the conference?

What’s covered with the fee I pay for registration? 
Your registration fee includes attendance at the conference, welcome reception Thursday night, all meals and breaks on Friday and breakfast, lunch and breaks on Saturday. This fee does not cover the costs of your room or transportation to Phoenix or to and from the airport.

Where can I learn more about the 5K and how do I sign up?
You can learn more about the 5K HERE. To sign up for the 5K you need to go through the registration process.

What if I only want to participate in the 5K and not the conference?
You can select to only participate in the 5K, we ask that you still go through the registration process and select just the 5K. We are requiring runners to fundraise the minimum amount of $250. Runners can still receive the discounted room rates and will be provided dinner on Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning.

Is there a room block available?
Yes, please reserve your room by TBD to secure this rate, after the hard date of TBD rates will be the standard hotel rates.

Can we request adjoining rooms or to be close to friends?
We are happy to take all hotel room requests, noting that we cannot guarantee all requests can be fulfilled as the hotels availability may fluctuate throughout the weekend. 

What is an OsteoWarrior?
OsteoWarriors include osteosarcoma survivors, their siblings, and siblings of an Osteosarcoma Angel.

FOR FAMILIES


Does MIB Agents provide financial aid available for my family to attend, airfare or accommodations?
Financial aid is very limited. Please contact Sarah@mibagents.org if you are not able to attend the conference by your own funding. 

Can I ask a doctor or another medical professional for advice about osteosarcoma?
While we want you to connect with people we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting medical advice or asking to have a specific case reviewed in this venue.

What do I do with my children that are attending?
All OsteoWarriors and their siblings pay NO REGISTRATION fees for attending the conference. MIB Agents finds pride in having one of the coolest event for kids at a medical conference. Run by the all amazing GiGi Jeffries and dedicated volunteers for the past 4 years you can feel confident leaving your child(ren) in their care while you attend the conference. Warrior HQ is designed for our younger conference attendees – this special program is available to OsteoWarriors and their siblings under the age of 18, but all OsteoWarriors are welcome to check it out.

What are the Warrior HQ Hours of operation at the conference?
Thursday: 5 PM – 9 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 9 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM – 9 PM
Sunday: No activities this day but Warriors and their families can join the cheering section at the OutRunning 5K race

What can my child(ren) expect at from Warrior HQ?
Warrior HQ has been run by the all amazing GiGi Jeffries and dedicated volunteers for the past 4 years. You can feel confident leaving your child(ren) in their care while you attend the conference. Gigi and her crew cook up some fun activities for the kids which have included in the past: scavenger hunts, magic show, dance party with DJ, pool party, video gaming, cake decorating with celebrity chef, arts and crafts, board games. The kids enjoy many meals together in HQ which can give mom, dad or their caregiver a chance for some grownup time during meals. We guarantee your child(ren) will leave this weekend with new friends and lots of memories.

Is this a conference just for doctors and researchers?No, this conference was designed for doctors AND osteosarcoma families. Kids can enjoy our Warrior HQ while parents and caregivers get to attend sessions with the medical professionals to learn about advancements in osteosarcoma.

I want to add my child to the angel wall at the conference, who do I contact?
If you have already submitted your child’s photo in previous years or online, then your child will be automatically added to the display. To add a new angel, please click here and fill out the form at the bottom or email Casey at Casey@MIBagents.org

Are CME’s available at this conference?
Please check back soon. We are investigating having this available for this event.

I am interested in presenting, how do I make that happen?
Speaker selections are being made at this time – if you would like to present there are three options:

  • Poster Sessions, will start on Thursday afternoon at the welcome session and will be on display through to conference. More information coming soon!
  • Apply for OutSmarting Osteosarcoma Grant, the top 3 proposals will be required to speak at the conference.
  • Elevator Pitch Session, 5 minutes/no slides to talk about what your doing in the field of osteosarcoma that is new and innovative. To apply, click Submit Abstract tab above and fill out the application for Elevator Pitch.

Are any of my travel expenses covered if I am presenting?
If you have been asked to be a general session speaker, or are one of the final 3 finalists for the OutSmarting Osteosarcoma grant then your room and registration fees will be covered. We are not able to cover flight, and transportation to/from the hotel at this time.
