Education

Join TURBO on July 22nd

If you’re managing a patient with relapsed osteosarcoma and want additional perspectives on treatment strategies or clinical trial options, consider presenting the case at MIB Agents TURBO (Tumor Review Board for Osteosarcoma). TURBO meets via Zoom every two months, bringing together a global panel of osteosarcoma experts to review complex cases, exchange insights, and discuss emerging data. It’s a collegial, multidisciplinary forum designed to support clinical decision-making for challenging cases. This educational forum is for medical professionals only; patients and families are welcome to ask their oncologists to present a case on their behalf.  Our next meeting is July 22nd at 5p ET.

Join TURBO to request an invite or submit a case.

Research

New Clinical Trials

Three clinical trials have recently opened for osteosarcoma patients.

Evaluating Efficacy of B7-H3-CAR T Cells Administered at the End of Upfront Map Chemotherapy in Patients With Newly Diagnosed High-Risk Osteosarcoma recently opened at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and is enrolling patients <21 with metastatic osteosarcoma at diagnosis. B7-H3-CAR T cells are administered 14-28 days after completing MAP chemotherapy. Contact: referralinfo@stjude.org

OstEvo (A Study of Gefitinib, Trametinib, Disulfiram, and Sunitinib in Addition to Standard Chemotherapy in People With Osteosarcoma) recently opened at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and is enrolling newly diagnosed patients ages 6-49 with metastatic high-risk osteosarcoma. Rather than studying one drug at a time, this trial evaluates treatment strategies that combine multiple therapies based on biological insights into how osteosarcoma grows and becomes resistant to treatment. A Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Risvutatug Rezetecan in Participants With Advanced Sarcomas (EMBOLD Sarcoma-202) will soon enroll osteosarcoma patients ≥12 with unresectable advanced or metastatic relapsed/refractory disease. The goal of this study is to test a new investigational antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), Risvutatug Rezetecan (Ris-Rez), that targets B7-H3 by combining an anti-B7-H3 monoclonal antibody with a topoisomerase inhibitor payload.
