Patients Powering Research

At MIB Agents, we bring patients, families, and scientists together to advance osteosarcoma research in meaningful and impactful ways. By connecting the lived experiences of the patient community with the needs of the scientific community, we help accelerate progress, ensuring that research is not only possible, but enriched and informed by real-world patient experiences and perspectives.

We support this mission through three key efforts:

Funding Research: Through our annual OutSmarting Osteosarcoma grant program, MIB Agents Family Funds have awarded $2.5 million in research funding since 2017, supporting 32 investigators. In 2022, we launched a dedicated Young Investigator Grant to fuel the next generation of osteosarcoma researchers, supporting 14 early-career scientists to date.

Contributing Data & Biosamples: MIB Agents bridges the gap between patients who want to make a difference and researchers who need data and biosamples to advance their work, connecting researchers to patients who want to contribute data, biosamples, and insights to power research.

Sharing Real-World Experience: MIB Agents facilitates the voices of patients and caregivers to directly inform the design of research studies and clinical trials. Through focus groups, surveys, individual interviews, and Patient Panels at scientific meetings, our community provides honest, real-world feedback that helps researchers and clinicians design more relevant, patient-centered studies and improve clinical care.
