Danielle was a very kind and caring person. She loved to do random acts of kindness. If you needed something and she could help or do it she was right there. She loved to make people smile.
During her treatments in the hospital, she would wear penguin slippers, penguin hat and pajamas so she could walk around the hallways bringing smiles to everyone she met. So even though she wasn’t feeling the best she was always trying to make others feel better. She would say how can you feel bad seeing a big penguin walking around.
She was an amazing warrior who fought for almost 8 years. Whenever she was feeling good she was trying to do things for others. She would bake cookies and donate to police and fire stations, make crafts and pay for coffee or lunch for someone. She was always trying to find ways to help someone in any way she could.
So, we believe the best way to honor Danielle (who wanted the doctors to try to find any information they could from her tumor to hopefully find a cure for this disease so no one else would have to go through all treatments she had to endure). They have not foundany new treatments in over 40 years. So, raising funds for research in hopes of finding a cure so no one else has to fight like Danielle did, would be something that she would have loved to see happen.
