Molly was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2022 at the age of 19, just as she finished her associates degree, and had plans to enter an elementary education program. Osteosarcoma had other plans. Over the course of three and a half years, Molly endured limb salvage surgery, amputation above the knee, countless lung surgeries, and years of chemotherapy and radiation. Despite these difficult experiences, Molly’s positive spirit never wavered. Oftentimes on the oncology floor at the hospital, the nurses would ‘fight’ over who got to care for Molly. They knew that no matter how Molly would be feeling that day, that they would be greeted with a smile, a compliment, a book review, a tv show recommendation, or a lesson in the latest craft Molly was working on. Molly’s favorite place to be was at home. She loved being surrounded by her family—her mom, dad, and two sisters—her pets, endless crafts, and her books. Molly was an avid reader who read 75 books in 2024 and was well on her way to a larger goal in 2025. Our hope is that with this Family Fund, more research can be funded and other families can attend the FACTOR conference as we were able to in June 2025. We appreciate any contribution to Molly’s Family Fund.
