-Volume 36 | August 6, 2025
At MIB Agents, everything we do is grounded in the power of connection between families, researchers, clinicians, and advocates. This month, we highlight how those connections are fueling progress, building community, and making a difference across the osteosarcoma landscape. This September, you can join the movement by becoming a Bow Agent and helping turn your neighborhood gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Meet the dedicated families on our Family Fund Advisory Council who are turning heartbreak into hope. Discover how the new CTOS Young Investigator Group (YIG) is creating space for early-career scientists to learn and lead together. We’re thrilled to welcome 8 new Ambassador Agents who are ready to walk alongside fellow families facing osteosarcoma. And if you missed FACTOR 2025, now’s your chance to dive into all the incredible science - it’s all available online, along with our FACTOR photo album. This August for National Make-a-Will Month, we invite you to consider using this free legacy planning tool to create your will, a meaningful way to support kids with osteosarcoma through research, family programs, and lasting hope. No matter how you’re connected to this community, we’re so glad you’re here. Together, we Make It Better.
With hope,
The MIB Agents Team
Join us this September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by signing up as a Bow Agent Volunteer. As a Bow Agent, you’ll help raise awareness by distributing beautiful gold bows throughout your community—on mailboxes, storefronts, schools, and more. Each gold bow is a powerful symbol of hope, resilience, and solidarity for children and families facing cancer. Help us turn neighborhoods gold and make a meaningful impact, one bow at a time.
MIB Agents Family Funds empower families to honor their OsteoWarrior or OsteoAngel while helping others facing osteosarcoma. Our 2025 Family Fund Advisory Council, made up of five dedicated Family Fund representatives, is here to support and guide fellow families through shared experience and compassion. Learn how they’re building community and turning heartbreak into hope in our latest blog post.

The Connective Tissue Oncology Society (CTOS) has launched an exciting new Young Investigator Group (YIG) to support trainees and early-career faculty across all sarcoma disciplines. Spearheaded by Dr. Vishu Avutu (MSKCC), YIG aims to foster peer connection, mentorship, and career development through quarterly programming, a cross-disciplinary advisory board, and an accessible platform for collaboration and questions. Open to medical students through fellows, graduate/post-grad students, and junior faculty (within 5–7 years post-fellowship), this group is designed by young investigators, for young investigators. Learn more or get involved by contacting Vishu (avutuv@mskcc.org).

We are delighted to have added 8 trained Ambassador Agents to our ranks at FACTOR 2025! So many families have happily benefited from the experience and varied perspectives of peers who have successfully navigated the osteosarcoma journey before them. We match our Ambassadors by determining caregiver and patient needs and concerns with the experiences and specifics of treatments of our Ambassadors. Request an Ambassador Agent and Isabel Wolf, Director of Programs, will call you promptly.
We’re excited to share the incredible scientific content from our FACTOR 2025 conference, featuring 35 oral presentations across seven expert panels and 15 compelling poster presentations. You can now watch full panel discussions on YouTube (thanks to the generous support of the Cheung Family, Because of Isaac), view presentation slides and posters, and read all abstracts in the official Conference Proceedings. Sharing knowledge with our entire community is fundamental to how we Make It Better. A heartfelt thank you to all the researchers and clinicians who generously contributed their work to help Make It Better for kids and young adults with osteosarcoma.
