Connective Issue #50

As we wrap up Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and head into the final months of the year, we’re excited to share our 50th issue of Connective Issue! We’re reflecting on the progress made this September, including a spotlight on our JAB and NextGen members who traveled to Capitol Hill to advocate for childhood cancer research. Tomorrow is DAF Day, a chance to turn your giving into even more support for families and research. Applications are now open for St. Baldrick’s Summer Fellow Awards in partnership with MIB Agents for undergraduate, graduate, and medical students. TURBO meets on November 11, and we have a new digital programs sheet for newly diagnosed families. Plus, a reminder that OutSmarting Osteosarcoma applications are due October 16. Here’s to 50 issues of staying connected, sharing progress, and continuing to Make It Better together.

With hope,

The MIB Agents Team

Spotlight on Climb the Hill

This September, for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, members of our Junior Advisory Board and NextGen travelled to Washington D.C. with Kids V. Cancer to advocate for legislation to accelerate childhood cancer research. They met with members of Congress and their staff, shared their personal experiences with osteosarcoma, and explained why increased research and better treatment options are urgently needed. Read OsteoWarrior and NextGen member Matthew Ceelen's recap of the experience and what it meant to advocate on behalf of the childhood cancer community.

Join TURBO on 11/11/26

If you’re managing a patient with relapsed osteosarcoma and want additional perspectives on treatment strategies or clinical trial options, consider presenting the case at MIB Agents TURBO (Tumor Review Board for Osteosarcoma). TURBO meets via Zoom every two months, bringing together a global panel of osteosarcoma experts to review complex cases, exchange insights, and discuss emerging data. It’s a collegial, multidisciplinary forum designed to support clinical decision-making for challenging cases. This educational forum is for medical professionals only; patients and families are welcome to ask their oncologists to present a case on their behalf.  Our next meeting is November 11th at 5p ET.

Join TURBO to request an invite or submit a case.
